New jadite Milk Pitcher is a reproduction designed to look like Fire-King's 1 quart milk pitcher. First impressions CAN be wrong, so you must look carefully. Here are some signs to check:

New pitchers are not marked on the bottom.
Nearly all vintage Fire-King milk pitchers are marked Fire-King on the bottom. Some may not be marked. If this worries you, then stick with marked items only.

Color, shade, and opacity are generally not reliable criteria for distinguishing old pitchers from new ones. There can be much variation among older Fire-King pieces (For additional information, see our page of Frequently Asked Questions.) However, the differences are apparent when old and new pitchers are viewed side by side.

OLD NEW

Genuine fire-King milk pitchers are rather difficult to find and are prized by collectors. Their value continues to grow. Be skeptical of any offer that seems too good to be true. Ask about a dealer's return policy before you buy. Some Ebay peddlers will plead ignorance before admitting to selling fakes.
