For years, a number of different companies have been importing reproduction Shirley Temple Milk Pitchers, Mugs, and Cereals Bowls. One telling sign of the repros is the poor quality of the glass itself: heavily textured, lacking in clarity, and with a decidedly greasy feel. The most obvious feature, however, is the bright splotchy character of the picture.
Color is another quality that is not even remotely duplicated by the new repros. The original Hazel-Atlas mugs are a light RITZ Blue -- not the much darker cobalt blue.
Compare these photos of an original Hazel-Atlas Shirley Temple Milk Pitcher on the left with a repro on the right.

The same lack of concern for quality can be seen in other Reproduction Shirley Temple pieces.
There are some other companies producing NEW whimsical Shirley Temple pieces.
